I offer private workshops at £50 per hour, perfect for both amateur photographers and small businesses. If you're an amateur photographer, we can dive into topics you're keen on, from mastering DSLR settings and perfecting light painting to learning portrait photography or honing your videography skills, all tailored to help you grow your expertise. For small businesses, these workshops are ideal for boosting your photography, videography, or even your social media marketing and Instagram content creation, giving you the practical, hands-on experience you need to enhance your visual presence.
The Newcastle Photography Group
The Newcastle Photography Group is dedicated to amateur photographers looking to improve their skills in a supportive group environment. Our Beginner Photography Classes are available for £67 per person, offering hands-on learning to help you master your camera and develop your photography style. We also offer 2-hour sessions for £26 per person, focusing on practical photography techniques.

Ready to take your photography skills to the next level? Join Jenny for an engaging and hands-on beginner's photography class designed for amateur photographers. Whether you're using a DSLR or a mirrorless camera, this session will help you get the most out of your gear.
What You’ll Learn:
How Your Camera Works: Gain confidence by understanding the key functions of your DSLR or mirrorless camera.
Mastering the Exposure Triangle: Learn how to balance ISO, shutter speed, and aperture to capture perfectly exposed shots.
Creative Composition Techniques: Discover how to use the rule of thirds, leading lines, and framing to compose stunning images.
Session Details: We'll kick off with a relaxed theory session over lunch and a drink in a local coffee shop, where we'll cover the foundational concepts. Afterward, we’ll put theory into practice, heading outdoors to either the park if the weather is kind or into the city centre if it’s not.
Note: Please bring some money for refreshments. If you're travelling by metro, be sure to check for any closures, especially on match days, and plan extra travel time.

Jesmond Dene in Autumn

Join Jenny on this annual autumn wander through the breath-taking landscape of Jesmond Dene in Autumn. Let the season's vibrant hues and natural wonders inspire your creativity as you immerse yourself in the vivid colours and picturesque landscapes of one of the North East's most iconic locations. During this session you will learn about composition as well as how to use your camera on a tripod creatively to create soft, milky water effects. We’ll also get up close to nature as we also search for interesting macro style photos.

Light Painting in the City

Newcastle City Centre - 6pm - 2 Hours
Unleash your creativity with light painting in the city! Join Jenny for an electrifying workshop where you'll learn to transform urban spaces into luminous works of art. From doodling and creating vibrant light trails to experimenting with wire wool and sparkles, you'll master the techniques to make the night come alive. New Year Photography Walk

Jesmond Dene - 2pm - 2 Hours
Got a new DSLR or mirrorless camera for Christmas? Join Jenny for the annual New Year Photography Walk at one of Newcastle’s most enchanting spots for photography. Whether you're brand new to photography or an enthusiastic amateur, this relaxed walk is designed to help you master your camera and explore the beauty of Jesmond Dene in winter.
You will learn how to set and use your new camera with hands-on guidance, begin to understand the fundamentals of how ISO, aperture and shutter speed work together to create well-exposed images, and discover some of the best photography spots in Jesmond Dene, including a stop at the iconic Armstrong Waterfalls for an opportunity to try long exposure photography to capture that milky water effect.
We’ll meet at the Jesmond Dene Visitor Centre and finish the walk at the iconic waterfalls. A sturdy tripod is recommended for long exposure shots, but don’t worry if you don’t have one—Jenny will have a tripod available to borrow (just be prepared to wait your turn!).

City at Night
